Faded

She disappears
Like a snowflake in water
Slowly disintegrating
Behind the veils of her illness
Shadows crawl to light
Like monsters, from every corner of her ravaged mind
With big gasping breaths
She tries to escape
Contemplating death
With every tick of every tock
Longing for an end to come
Already written and done
Strangled by fear of knowing … that she does not know
Familiar faces fading
Names running off to a distant space
Not a moment of solace
Unremitting injustice
