This time I noticed it quite late

All the time thinking I was doing great

But when I paused and looked back at the past 356 days

I noticed I was back at it again

Alienated and alone

Eating out of a cardboard box

Starring at the screen

Day in and day out

Under neon lights, I pass my days

Nodding with a smile when asked, “are you ok?”

Holding back tears with eyes wide shut

Bloodshot and out of blood

Grey crown

Frown skin

Crows creeping in

Another cardboard box just in!
